Life may not always go as planned… but we can choose a meaningful path forward
Are you feeling overwhelmed and lost? Have you been struggling to find comfort and meaning in your life? When you’re navigating career decisions, health and lifestyle changes, relationships, or parenthood, you may feel stressed out and unsure as you attempt to define who you are and what you want out of life. At times, you’re confident about your decisions and proud of yourself for taking action. At other times, your self-esteem feels fragile, and you’re certain you’re making all the wrong decisions.
You may be so anxious that you have trouble sleeping or experience muscular tension, discomfort, chronic bodily pain, and/or general medical issues that may lead to feelings of worry and/or sadness. Life may feel uncertain, leaving you unsure if you’ll ever find steady ground beneath your feet again. Whether you’re navigating a move, a divorce, job changes, or other major life transitions, it can be overwhelming. Whether you’re feeling lost or struggling to find comfort and meaning, you don’t have to do this alone.
These transitions may bring anticipation and excitement for the future or trigger sadness, anxiety, and fear. I help my clients process and integrate feelings during uncertain times so moving forward with a sense of peace and purpose becomes possible. Together, we’ll practice healthy coping skills, so you have resources to turn to outside of sessions to support your well-being.
If you’re a first-generation Hispanic American, you may also have difficulty navigating your biculturalism, particularly when your two cultural identities clash. You may feel pride, shame, confusion, and anxiety as you balance the cultural expectations and norms of both your Hispanic and American identities. Balancing family expectations with personal desires can also be challenging.
As a licensed clinical psychologist of Hispanic descent, born in New Jersey and raised in South Florida, I can understand and empathize with many of these challenges. I provide individual psychotherapy to women aged 30 and older, and whatever your cultural background may be, I welcome you.
My treatment approach thoughtfully incorporates a variety of evidence-based interventions, including cognitive restructuring, comprehensive psychoeducation, effective mindfulness techniques, and carefully targeted symptom management strategies.
